September 12, 2026 On a steamy, sweaty night in the Swamp, Vernell Brown III put on a punt-return clinic as Florida routed FCS-classified Campbell 52-3 in front of the 20th consecutive sellout at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, closing out non-conference play before the start of SEC action. Brown, a sophomore and third-generation Gator, scored three first-half touchdowns, the first two on back-to-back punt returns of 64 and 70 yards that blew the game open early, then added a 14-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Aaron Philo. His 219 return yards on four punts set a new Florida program record and stood as the second-best single-game return performance in SEC history, trailing only Texas A&M's Dustin Harris. Philo turned in a strong outing of his own, completing 16 of 21 passes for 242 yards and accounting for three total touchdowns, two passing and one rushing, without a turnover before exiting late in the third quarter. Florida's ground game was just as productive. Jadan Baugh rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries, including a career-long 75-yard scoring run in the third quarter that pushed the lead to 52-3. Florida's defense, meanwhile, made its own statement. After surrendering 63 yards and a field goal on Campbell's opening drive, the Gators clamped down completely, holding the Camels to just 147 total yards across their next 13 possessions. Backup quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. saw his first snaps of the season in the second half, though the offense wasn't quite as sharp with the backups in. Campbell, playing its first game against an SEC opponent, had opened the year 2-0 for the first time since 2018, riding a 28-19 win over 24th-ranked FCS Western Carolina the week before, but had no answer for Florida's firepower. The win improved Florida to 2-0 on the season, following a 66-21 rout of Florida Atlantic in the opener. Campbell fell to 2-1. Florida turns to SEC play next, hosting Auburn. 🚨 Subscribe →    / @sec   🎥 Watch more SEC Football Condensed Games →    • Плейлист   💻 More SEC Football Content → https://www.secsports.com 🌐 SEC Social   / sec     / sec     / sec     / secsports   #SEC #SECFootball #SoutheasternConference #CollegeFootball #Highlights #SECNetwork #ESPN
