When attractive widow Miranda Thorpe (Prunella Gee) moves to the Yorkshire coast to open a boarding house, Frank, the removal man, develops more than just a passing interest in her. The formidable next-door landlady, Phyllis Nugent (Pat Phoenix), however, soon makes her presence felt.
