Linz, Austria – A Sunday on the Danube | Avalon Expression R

It’s Sunday 29th June and today we arrive in Linz, Austria, where we join a guided tour around the city centre. After the excitement of Budapest, Bratislava and Vienna, Linz feels noticeably quieter – partly because it’s Sunday and many of the shops are closed. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to see. We visit the impressive New Cathedral, walk through the historic centre and take a look at some of the sights that make Linz an interesting stop on the Danube. Perhaps we didn't see all of Linz's treasures in just one day, but it gave us a good introduction to the city – and, after three busy cities, a slightly quieter day wasn't necessarily a bad thing!
