What is enterprise UX design? And how is it different from regular consumer UX? Aren’t they both simply UX design? I hear these questions all the time—even from designers already working on enterprise products. So, let me explain the difference using simple examples. Stay until the end, because this may change the way you think about your design career. First, what is consumer UX? Think about apps like Instagram, Swiggy, or Spotify. People choose to use these apps. If an app is confusing or difficult, they can simply close it, delete it, and use another one. So these products are designed to attract people, keep them engaged, and make everything feel quick and easy. Enterprise UX is different. Think about software from companies like Salesforce, SAP, or IBM. These products are normally used by people as part of their jobs. The employee usually doesn’t choose the software. Their company chooses it for them. They may have to use it from morning until evening to complete many important tasks. They need to do those tasks quickly and without making mistakes. So, they are both UX, but the challenges are very different. In this video, we break down Enterprise UX vs Consumer UX using simple, real-world examples and explore: Why the buyer isn’t always the user Why enterprise users often don’t have a choice How small design changes can impact thousands of employees Why enterprise UX requires deeper business and systems thinking How AI is changing Enterprise UX Why Enterprise UX could be a powerful career opportunity for designers Subscribe to the channel, and share this video with a designer who needs to hear this.
