On What’s Up this month, eight stories offer a look at UM6P’s activities across industrial research, international cooperation, healthcare innovation and university life. In Marrakech, the university joined Moroccan and international partners in signing an agreement to establish the Africa Centre of Manufacturing Excellence, an initiative intended to connect advanced manufacturing research with industrial needs in Morocco and across Africa. Meanwhile, the UM6P Dynamic consultation process reached another stage, following discussions involving approximately 900 members of the university and OCP Group communities on the institution’s strategic direction toward 2040. Beyond Morocco, UM6P participated in MTL Connect 2026 in Montreal, contributing to exchanges on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital sovereignty and African technological innovation. In Benguerir, the inaugural Ibtikar & Wikaya program concluded with four emerging healthcare ventures receiving recognition for projects addressing biotechnology, early disease diagnosis, home healthcare and medical imaging. The month’s remaining stories brought attention to the relationship between research, society and the university community. In Rabat, an interdisciplinary workshop organized by AIRESS examined the governance of death, bringing together perspectives from history, anthropology, law, political theory and medical sociology to explore how institutions and social inequalities shape end-of-life experiences. In Benguerir, the eleventh From Lab to Market Demo Day presented twelve research-based projects developed jointly by UM6P researchers and OCP professionals, opening discussions on their potential industrial applications. Student life was equally present, with the sixth edition of GATE to UM6P offering new students opportunities to connect through cultural activities, creative workshops and discussions on campus responsibility. The university also welcomed the second cohort of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, bringing together young women from across Africa for exchanges on academic development, leadership and professional opportunities. #UM6P #TimesofUM6P #GatheringMindsShapingFutures Social links Follow us on LinkedIn:   / times-of-um6p   Follow us on Instagram:   / timesofum6p
