Every day on a hobby farm starts with a plan and usually ends with something completely different. Last year we spent thousands trying to improve this paddock, only for our Highland cows to demolish it almost immediately. So this winter we’re trying again, armed with an old tractor, a questionable amount of confidence and absolutely no guarantee that any of it will go to plan. Somewhere between cultivating paddocks, feeding animals, running our farmstay and preparing catering jobs, I somehow convince myself I’m becoming a tractor expert… That confidence doesn’t last long.
