盆栽を守る夏の水管理 ～朝夕の水やりと葉水の基本～

今回のWABI CHANNELは、猛暑を乗り切るための盆栽の水管理について、基本的な水のかけ方から夏ならではの工夫までをご紹介します。 盆栽の水やりでは、鉢上の土表面が濡れているように見えても、鉢の中まで十分に水が届いていないことがあります。夏場は特に、土の乾き方や水の浸み込み方を見ながら、必要に応じて少し間を置き、二度、三度と水をかけることが大切です。 動画では、松柏類と雑木盆栽、それぞれの水やりの違いや、朝夕の水やり、夕方に行う葉水について実演を交えて解説します。さらに、乾きやすい小品盆栽への水の与え方や、バケツの水に鉢を浸す方法、濡れたタオルを使った乾燥対策など、ご家庭でも取り入れやすい工夫をご紹介します。 一本一本の状態をよく見ながら、それぞれの樹に合った水やりを行い、厳しい夏の暑さから大切な盆栽を守りましょう。 In this episode of WABI CHANNEL, we introduce the essential watering techniques and summer care needed to help bonsai through extreme heat. Even when the surface of the soil appears wet, water may not have penetrated the soil deep inside the pot. During summer, it is especially important to observe how quickly the soil dries and how well the water penetrates. When necessary, wait a short while and make a second or third watering pass so that moisture reaches the entire root area. Through practical demonstrations, we explain how watering differs between coniferous and deciduous bonsai, how to water in the morning and evening, and how an evening spray over the foliage can help cool the tree. We also introduce useful techniques for Shohin bonsai, including immersing the pot in a bucket of water and using a wet towel to help prevent rapid drying at home.
