The religion of man teaches that a person must first make himself clean through obedience to God's law before he can approach God. But the religion of God declares that fallen man cannot make himself clean and that even his best obedience can never merit God's favour.
In this sermon, we see how the good news liberates us - that unworthy sinners may nevertheless come to Christ in humble faith and receive His grace freely. And in receiving Him, those who are unclean are made clean.
This sermon was preached by Rev Christopher Poshin David on October 11, 2026, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Chennai.
Series: The Servant King, on the Gospel of Mark
In a world that prizes power, prestige and self-promotion, the Gospel of Mark gives us a portrait of a King who kneels to serve, who rules through sacrifice and who conquers not by the steel of the sword but by his love.
