College ROI, Enrollment Shifts, and Pro-Human AI with Geoffrey Landward

Geoffrey Landward, Utah’s commissioner of higher education, explains why degrees and post-secondary certificates still deliver real return on investment, and why “ROI” should include more than wages alone. He breaks down Utah’s enrollment outlook, what planning looks like before the enrollment cliff hits, and why Utah’s system structure can be an advantage if institutions coordinate roles instead of duplicating programs. Landward also talks about returning adults, micro-credentials, and why banning AI in the classroom is the wrong approach when AI is becoming a workforce requirement. He shares what “pro-human” means in practice, and why mentorship and experiential learning matter more than ever. #Utah #HigherEducation #AI
