Effective like Salt: Influencing your world

Dear friend, Have you ever wondered how much influence your life can have on the people around you? In this message, I look at Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:13: Your lives are like salt among the people.”Salt may seem ordinary, but it has a powerful effect—and Jesus calls us to have that same kind of influence wherever He has placed us. Salt seasons, preserves, melts what has become hard and cold, and can bring healing. In the same way, our words, actions and the way we live can bring encouragement, restoration, hope and the life of Christ to the people around us. But salt is only effective when it remains connected to its source. Jesus is our source. When we stay connected to Him and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us, we can become effective in the sphere of influence God has given us. You may have just what the person next to you is looking for. So don’t underestimate your influence. Be salt. Be light. Make a difference where God has placed you.
