Møllergata Social Club | Episode 3: The End?

Møllergata has long been Oslo’s urban backyard, with creativity and artistic expression deeply tied to its identity. In 2024, Marthe Hem first brought graffiti artists and property developers together for Møllergata 4-ever, building the trust that laid the foundation for what followed this summer. In the gray, uninviting courtyard of the future The Hoxton Oslo, the people behind the hotel saw an opportunity to continue that unlikely collaboration, this time as a shared tribute to Marthe and Møllergata’s creative DNA. Nobody quite knew what would come of it. Nobody expected more than 70 artists from Oslo and beyond to contribute. Over 58 days, they brought their ideas, memories, and motivations to 400 m² of asphalt and 600 m² of walls. The result exceeded expectations, yet so clearly reflected the people and culture that created it. Different backgrounds, different ambitions, all contributing to something bigger than any one of them could create alone. “The End?” closes our three-part film series, but Møllergata Social Club continues as an art gallery, with room for its purpose and identity to evolve. It remains guided by the same belief that started it all: give people space, and they may create something beyond anything you could have imagined.
