[In the news] Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) Top 3 Noisiest Stretches Showcase

In this video, I showcase sound level measurements taken along the top 3 noisiest sections of the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL), where trains are reported to generate relatively high noise levels. Earlier this month, reports emerged that tenders were being called in October 2026 for the installation of rail dampers along these stretches in response to noise complaints: https://blog.sgtrains.com/2026/10/lta... Taking this opportunity, I measured the sound levels in decibels (dB) at these locations to assess just how noisy the trains are when passing through these sections. While the noise can be quite loud, the measured sound levels generally remained below the 85 dB threshold. Join me as I document the current noise conditions along these sections of the TEL.
