Changing the subject of a formula for GCSE Maths: why rearranging v = u + at is the same as solving 20 = 5 + 3t, one-step rearranging (P = 4s, y = x + 7), two steps undone in reverse order (y = 3x − 5, A = bh/2), brackets and squares (P = 2(l + w), A = πr²), and on Higher, formulae where the subject appears twice (ax + 3 = bx + 7, y = (x + 2)/(x − 1)). Plus the mistakes that cost marks. Foundation and Higher.
Covers: AQA 8300 A5 · Edexcel 1MA1 Topic 2 A5 · OCR J560 6.02c (Foundation and Higher on all three; the subject appearing twice is Higher).
