Wax Carving: Removing a Gemstone Before Lost Wax Casting

Join me as I carefully remove a labradorite gemstone encased within a wax model. I built this ring using molten jewellers wax, and built the claws while the gemstone was attached to the mount. I have used molten blue Ferris wax to build this ring. Stone removal is tricky, but slow and steady (with a flat blunt dental carver) always wins the race!
