3D Animated Bangkok Transit History | Trams, Skytrain, Subway (1888-2040)

In this animation, I attempted to be the first to create a 3d metro evolution of one of my favorite cities, Bangkok. I drew from whatever information is available on the tram history, old proposals, current metro system of BTS and MRT, and future expansion plans. I also attempted to 'straighten' out the kinks of the current subway map to try and minimize the turns on all of the lines by forcing them to be vertical, horizontal, diagonal or part of a circular arc as inspired by many of the existing maps like London or Singapore. It all honestly started from staring too long at maps.
