8/9/26 Series in Daniel Continued

This week Pastor Drew continued his series in Daniel. He focused on the story of Daniel in the lion's den. How can we have faith like Daniel? King Darius had come to power after the death of Belshazzar. He formed a friendship with Daniel and put him in charge of everything, making others jealous of Daniel. They followed him and looked for corruption. They could find none in Daniel, even when he didn't know they were watching. Who are we when no one is watching us? Are we the same person out in the world as we are at home? When those jealous of Daniel found they couldn't attack his integrity they decided to attack his faith. They set a trap, convincing Darius that for one month the people should all worship him. Anyone that refused to worship King Darius would be sent to the lion's den. Daniel continued to pray to God as he always had, even knowing the consequences of not praying to Darius. When we pray, we remember what God has done for us. Our situations in life may change like Daniel's, but the God we serve does not change. He's as faithful to us on our good days as he is on our difficult days. Daniel continued the same spiritual practices he'd always had, even knowing he would die. Spiritual practice helps us prepare for the challenges we will face. King Darius could not go back on his decree but prayed that the God Daniel worshipped would save his friend. Daniel was saved by God because of his faith. How are you living in faith right now?
