Last week, we explored basic data analysis questions, including the number of transactions recorded and the overall revenue and profit generated by a business. This week, we're moving into descriptive analysis, where we examine the performance of individual business dimensions to better understand what is happening within the business. In this tutorial, we'll focus on Regional Performance and explore how to answer questions such as: How much revenue did each region generate? How much profit did each region generate? How many units were sold in each region? How many transactions were recorded in each region? We'll explore two approaches to answering these questions using Microsoft Excel. Method 1: Excel Formulas Learn how to use UNIQUE to extract distinct regions, SUMIFS to calculate revenue, profit, and units sold, and COUNTIF to count transactions for each region. Method 2: PivotTables Learn how to summarize the same data using PivotTables and compare regional performance without writing individual formulas for each measure. Both methods help us summarize data, compare performance, and gain a clearer understanding of different parts of a business. Why learn both methods? Formulas and PivotTables offer different ways to approach data analysis. Understanding both helps you choose the most suitable method for the task at hand. Follow Stepwise Insights as we continue learning how to clean, analyze, and transform data into meaningful business insights. #DataAnalysis #Excel #DescriptiveAnalysis #ExcelFormulas #PivotTables #DataAnalytics #StepwiseInsights
