[Story] -A letter from.. In the old mailbox at the orchard gate, I had been receiving postcards in the same handwriting for three years now. There was no sender’s name, and the stamped town was different every time. Each card held just one line. “Were the apples sweet this year?” At first, I thought it was a joke. The second time, it frightened me a little. By the third, strangely, I found myself waiting for it. This autumn, too, I stopped picking apples and walked to the mailbox. Over the frosted field, the scarecrow’s shadow lay long on the ground. The postcard was there. But this time, it held two lines. “Were the apples sweet this year? I hope you’ve saved a share of them for me.” I turned the card over to see which town it had been sent from. For the first time, it bore the name of our own village. Slowly, I lifted my head and looked down the orchard road. Far away in the sunset, someone was walking toward me, leaning on a cane. Who was this person? Leave the next scene in the comments. 🍎 [Timeline] 00:00 Old Radio in the Barn 03:02 Orchard at Dusk 05:35 When the Apple Falls 08:27 Basket of Apples 10:58 Golden Field, Quiet Wind 14:03 Frost on the Fence Post 17:06 Grandmother's Kitchen Window 20:24 Gravel Road, Slow Walk 23:30 Hey, You Made It 26:34 Kettle on the Stove 29:25 Kinder Light 32:07 Knock, Knock, Autumn 34:54 Neighbors with Baskets 37:41 Persimmon, Be Patient 40:34 Porch Swing Hour 43:55 Slow Cider 47:20 Slow Dance on the Porch 50:13 The Scarecrow's Watch 52:35 The Yellow Door Is Open 55:38 Whistle Down the Lane 58:25 Wooden Crates
