Presenter: Eric Franklin Founder of the Franklin Method® Organization: Franklin Method® https://franklinmethod.com/ Location: Switzerland ISMETA Approved Training Program The Menisci Dance - Discover the dynamic role of the knee menisci through movement, imagery, and embodied anatomy. In this playful mini-session, participants will explore how the medial and lateral menisci move and adapt as the knee bends, extends, and rotates, transforming anatomy from something we simply learn about into something we can sense and experience. Using Franklin Method® imagery and simple movement explorations, participants will embody the relationship between the menisci, the femur, and the tibia, then bring this awareness into whole-body movement. The session offers a taste of how the Franklin Method combines anatomical understanding, dynamic imagery, and movement to support function and body awareness. Participants will: • understand the basic movement and function of the knee menisci; • experience how imagery can make anatomical relationships tangible and easier to embody; • explore how increased awareness of knee anatomy can influence the quality and ease of movement. No special materials are required. Participants only need enough space to stand and move comfortably. The Franklin Method® is a somatic movement and educational approach founded by Eric Franklin that combines Dynamic Neuro-Cognitive Imagery™, experiential anatomy, movement, and anatomical education to improve function, body awareness, and movement efficiency. Developed over more than 30 years, the Franklin Method® is informed by somatic and movement practices, dance, biomechanics, anatomy, and imagery-based approaches to movement education. At the heart of the method is the idea that understanding and embodying the body’s design can positively influence the way we move and experience ourselves. Franklin Method® Educator trainings and continuing education programs teach participants to explore anatomy through movement, touch, imagery, and proprioceptive experience, making complex anatomical concepts accessible, practical, and embodied.
