Have you ever turned a radio dial late at night and heard a voice reading numbers? Just numbers, in groups of five, like it's talking to someone. It is. If your radio ever starts reading numbers at night, don't write them down. There are 7 rules. Most people break the fifth. This is Protocol 005 from the Quiet Hours Service. It starts with something real: numbers stations. Shortwave stations that read groups of numbers to spies, encrypted with one-time pads that can't be broken. In 2001, five Cuban agents were convicted in Miami, partly on numbers they had copied from a station called Atención. In Russia, "the Buzzer" has been buzzing on 4625 kHz since at least 1982, and nobody has ever officially said what it's for. In Poland, a "little girl" shouted "Achtung" before every message for decades. She was a machine. Every numbers station has an explanation. Except one. Have you ever heard one? Tell us where. Never post the numbers. Quiet Hours: protocols for the things that happen between 1 and 5 AM. Numbers stations, one-time pads, the Cuban Five trial (2001), UVB-76 "the Buzzer" (4625 kHz) and the Polish station known as "Swedish Rhapsody" are real. Everything about the Lullaby is fiction. #analoghorror #numbersstation #horrorrules
