Parable of Belonging - Cycle I Summary

Parable of Belonging is being created by the Wandering Ensemble (Dandelion Dancetheater and the CSUEB Inclusive Interdisciplinary Ensemble) and a diverse collection of students, scholars, teachers, artists, organizers, and community members. Butler and "Emergent Strategy" by adrienne maree brown, and will use inclusive performance to explore what life in the Bay Area could be like in 30 years. Octavia Butler imagined 30 years into her future from the 1990’s to write her Parable series. And now we are living in a version of the future she saw. Parable of Belonging is an invitation for us to come together across disciplines, departments, colleges, religions, cultures, ways of knowing, creative forms, and identities to face the crises of our time and work together to develop sustainable, life-affirming, inclusive strategies of response.
