Traditionally, these teachings were among the last of the Islamic sciences entrusted to seekers. Yet perhaps our times call for revisiting them earlier, as they cut through much of the confusion surrounding spirituality today. The authentic Sufi guide does not call the seeker to himself or herself. As an inheritor of the Muhammadan way, the guide takes the seeker by the hand to the Shaykh of all shaykhs, our beloved Master Muḥammad ﷺ.
