North Norfolk Railway - Festival on Rails 2026 - 24th to 26th August

The North Norfolk Railway hosts a week-long event in august called the "Festival on Rails" which features an extended timetable and lots of engines across the event, both steam and diesel. Before the event took place, lots of places in England, Scotland and Wales suffered a drought leaving the grass very susceptible to sparking from the occasional cinder from a steam locomotive. Steam was effectively barred from travelling to Holt in case fire broke out however on the evening of the 24th of August the decision was made to allow full-line working again. Footage recorded in sunny Norfolk along the length of the line across three days of the week-long event.
