I may have been using my propeller settings wrong… and that made me wonder if I could have been putting unnecessary stress on my Rotax 912. 😳🔧 So before carrying on as if nothing happened, I wanted to check that everything was OK. The Rotax maintenance documentation specifies a check of the maximum torque required to move the crank drive through the propeller. In the procedure applicable to this check, the maximum permitted value is 150 Nm. So that's what we checked. And thankfully… It passed. Everything is fine. 😅 The story doesn't quite end here, though. After the check, I went flying with my friend Florian from @FlyFloAero to better understand what I had been doing wrong and how I should actually be using my propeller settings. Florian also made his own video explaining the issue and the correct propeller operation from his perspective: 👉 Watch Florian's explanation:    • Flug zu JuroFOX - Können wir den Motor noc...   Aircraft: Aeropro EuroFOX Engine: Rotax 912 ULS Propeller: Kašpar KA 2/3 PA This video documents maintenance and checks performed on my own aircraft and my own experience. It is not intended as maintenance or operating instruction. Always refer to the current Rotax, aircraft and propeller manufacturer's documentation and applicable maintenance requirements. A big thanks to Florian / @FlyFloAero for helping me understand what I was doing wrong. ✈️👍 If you enjoy EuroFOX ownership, Rotax 912 troubleshooting, aircraft maintenance and the occasional aviation gremlin, subscribe and join me for more.
