The story follows a young girl who finds herself stuck in a penalty class in her college along with a few classmates, while the shadows of her past trauma continue to haunt her. Through this confined setting, the film gradually unfolds layers of pain, silence, and unspoken struggles. As an independent filmmaker, I have consistently created short films entirely on my own, working with little to no budget. Silenced is a continuation of that journey—made on a minimal budget of just ₹6000 and completed within an intensive five-day shooting schedule. What makes this project even more personal is that the entire film—from writing and direction to cinematography, editing, CGI, and all technical aspects—was handled independently by me (Reiko). The film also relied heavily on the emotional intensity and performances of its cast. Despite having a very tight schedule, Vaishnavi Bhandari (Lead Actress) not only managed to dedicate her time but also delivered her performance effortlessly. All cast members contributed wholeheartedly and delivered commendable performances, which played a crucial role in bringing the story to life. The idea behind Silenced stems from a desire to shed light on an issue that often remains unspoken in society. The film aims to encourage awareness, empathy, and open conversations about trauma that many silently carry. Being officially selected at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2026 is an incredibly proud moment. It validates the spirit of independent filmmaking and provides a platform to share this story with a wider audience. Silenced is not just a film—it is a voice for stories that are often left unheard. ⚠️ CONTENT WARNING This film deals with mature themes involving psychological trauma and disturbing experiences.
