Digging the Greenhouse Base

Welcome to the Hordon Homestead. We are Helen & Jeff and are based in the rolling countryside of Northumberland in the UK (growing zone 8b/7a), and in the spring of 2025 we started our journey of growing our own vegetables in our "Homestead Garden". Watch as we grow and cook our food We are gradually expanding the homestead garden and trialling new veg, fruit and methods so you can watch us as we create raised beds, a cold frame and sew seeds over the coming seasons. We’ve had loads of new subscribers recently, so if you are new welcome to our Homestead Garden Its really lovely to see you here, please write a comment and tell us where you are from and what you are growing, and don’t forget to ding the bell for notifications of our new videos and shorts. Today’s video is about the new greenhouse, and preparing the base. The plan is to dig it out so the ground is level in preparation for the hard base we are using (see the next video. It forms part of a new mini series we are recording of the entire greenhouse build. Disclaimer, we are amateurs who are learning and making mistakes as we go along. We have never built a greenhouse before so please do your own research before building yours cos we could be making huge mistakes ! #greenhouse #homestead #growyourownfood #vegetables #allotment #homesteading #digging #buildingdreams Music From Uppbeat.io by Thomas Voigt, Hemlock and Hey Pluto
