His couplets are often short, written in the simplest of language, mostly , yet they hold so much meaning that you find yourself sitting quietly for a while after reading them. Sometimes melancholic, sometimes strangely uplifting — always deeply human. "Zindagi Khwaab Kyun Dikhaati Hai" (also names as Ek Hi Muzhda Subah Lati Hai), is one of my personal favorites by him. It flows so naturally, so smoothly, that it almost asks to be composed. And yet — I searched online and found no rendition of this ghazal by any singer available. None. That genuinely surprised me. A ghazal this beautiful, this complete, waiting quietly for someone to give it a melody. Hats off to Jaun Elia Ji for writing something so extraordinary that it still feels undiscovered. The composition began on guitar — first without any instruments, just voice and feeling, and then with guitar giving it a different but fitting shape. The pattern of singing stays natural and close to the words.
