The Exclusive tour of the unique & magical ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital while on a mission in Rwanda!

In July 2025, The Government of Rwanda through its ministry of Health invited The global eye care nonprofit ORBIS Interntional to Rwanda for a two-week training project on board the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital, the world's only fully accredited ophthalmic teaching hospital on a plane. During the training, Orbis clinical staff and Volunteer Faculty (medical experts) guided participants in simulation training, hands-on surgical training and patient care, and workshops focused on the ophthalmic subspecialties of strabismus, cataract, oculoplastics, and medical retina. The training also covered skills in anesthesiology, nursing, and biomedical engineering. While on that noble mission, GroundTime was offered an exclusive guided tour by The Chief Mechanic #ValerieSuberg in all corners of the majestic MD-10 aircraft which was once a Fedex freighter but was later donated to #ORBIS_International.
