This drive begins on S Biscayne River Dr, heads west on NW 151st St and joins I-95 south toward downtown Miami. It loops through the downtown streets along SW 3rd St, the Miami River and W Flagler St, then follows W Flagler St west through the city in strong afternoon light. From Flagler the route turns south on Ponce de Leon Blvd into Coral Gables, crosses the Tamiami Trail and heads south on Red Rd (SW 57th Ave) to Sunset Dr (SW 72nd St) at South Miami. It then winds through residential streets to the west, returns east on Bird Rd, and takes SW 37th Ave north to Coral Way. Coral Way leads back toward downtown Miami, and the drive finishes with a run north on I-95, east on NW 79th St and north along Biscayne Blvd. The sky changes completely over the drive. It opens in bright afternoon sun with puffy white clouds and strong sun flare, then softens into a clear blue evening with a pink glow on the horizon.
