Problem Solving Frustrating Machine Embroidery Designs

Chances are, if you have an embroidery machine, you’ve dealt with your fair share of embroiderer frustration! With decades of experience as a contract embroiderer, we always had to identify and find solutions to production problems as quickly as possible. Time is money, and damaged goods amplify the equation. I remember rigging our own hooping stations, implementing lasers for placement and alignment before it became a thing. Creating canvas “windows” within our sash frames to increase production with our panel programs for garments and headwear. It’s all about finding solutions that work well for you! Anyone who has owned or run an embroidery shop will immediately agree that finding innovative solutions to continuously arising problems that occur is part of the business. It brings to life the quote “necessity is the mother of invention”. The key is to not give up and see failure as an opportunity to learn. Now, all that sounds nice, but try having that attitude after running the same embroidery file to its 130,000 stitch completion and finding out that the registration has moved! That's what this video is all about. When the first sample “moved off registration” I assessed that the sash frame was hitting the table on the machine, this was identified by a little “thud-sound” when the frame got to the bottom right corner and was slightly hitting the table. My solution? Tape the inside of the sash frame so “hopefully” the frame would ease over the edge of the table, no such luck, and onto sample number three! My solution as you’ll see is as primitive as can be and used material I had on hand, remember, time is money, and running a 130,000 stitch design three times is a surefire way to waste time and frustrate yourself!
