Why We Can Never Use Our Own Logic To Worship Allah? | Shaykh Ibn al-'Uthaymeen

Islamic Reminder | English Translation of a Lecture by Shaykh Ibn al-'Uthaymeen How do we know if our worship is actually accepted, and why is following the majority often a dangerous standard for the truth? In this part of the lecture, essential principles are laid out regarding how a Muslim must approach worship and creed. In this lesson, the noble scholar Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-'Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) clarifies that the default ruling in all acts of worship is prohibition—meaning no one can invent a way to worship Allah without direct evidence from the Shari'ah. He emphasizes the importance of removing ignorance from oneself before attempting to correct others, warning strictly against the hidden arrogance that sometimes infects those who advise people. Furthermore, the Shaykh explains the necessity of grounding one's Islamic creed upon the clear texts of the Quran and Sunnah, rather than bending the attributes of Allah to fit human intellect or blindly following the popular opinions of the masses.
