Along the way, we'll experience the wide-open landscapes of southeastern Wyoming, the expansive skies of western Nebraska, and the rolling countryside of the Cornhusker State. Our journey begins in Cheyenne, Wyoming's capital city, where we'll head east on Interstate 80 toward the Nebraska state line. As we leave Wyoming behind, the landscape opens into the vast High Plains, with sweeping views of grasslands, distant horizons, and the seemingly endless Nebraska sky. Continuing east, we'll pass through western Nebraska and the North Platte area, following a transportation corridor that has connected travelers across the Great Plains for generations. Much of our journey follows the Platte River Valley, a historic route once traveled by pioneers heading west along the Oregon, California, and Mormon Trails. As we make our way across Nebraska, we'll pass through the Kearney and Grand Island areas before continuing toward Lincoln, the state capital. Along the way, the landscape gradually changes from the open High Plains of western Nebraska to the greener farmland and rolling hills of the eastern part of the state. Our journey concludes in Omaha, Nebraska's largest city, bringing another leg of our cross-country adventure to an end. While Nebraska might not have the towering mountains or dramatic canyons of our previous drives, there's a different kind of beauty to discover here.
