BAYERN BEG FOR WOLTEMADE AFTER MOCKING US AS NICK POPE PLOTS SHOCK EXIT! NEWCASTLE NEWS Bayern Munich have come knocking for Nick Woltemade, and Nick Pope is plotting his exit from Newcastle United. Two huge stories from St James' Park, and we're breaking down every detail on The Gallowgate View. Do you remember when Bayern laughed at Newcastle for paying sixty four million pounds to Stuttgart for Nick Woltemade? Well, according to Tuttosport, the German giants have now made contact with Woltemade's representatives about a potential move next summer. Woltemade is currently on a season long loan at Juventus, where he has scored one penalty in six appearances and was criticised after missing a huge chance in the three two defeat to Sassuolo. Juventus legend Fabrizio Ravanelli has even questioned whether he is a true striker. Juventus paid a loan fee of three and a half million pounds with no obligation to buy, which means Newcastle United hold all the cards and will decide his price tag. Is this the perfect revenge on Bayern, or should we give Woltemade another chance in black and white? Then there's the heartbreaking one. Nick Pope, the goalkeeper who started in the Carabao Cup final win over Liverpool at Wembley in 2025 and helped end a seventy year trophy drought, is planning to leave. Football Insider journalist Pete O'Rourke reports that Pope will look at options in the January transfer window, and if nothing suits him he can walk away as a free agent next summer when his contract expires. Since Matthias Jaissle replaced Eddie Howe, Lukas Hornicek has become first choice and Jaouen the back up, which leaves the sixty thousand pounds a week England goalkeeper with no game time. Jaissle has praised Pope as a player and a person, but Hornicek has kept just one clean sheet in five Premier League appearances. Has Jaissle got this right, or is he making a massive mistake?
