Today, our Filipino helper cooked one of the most comforting and traditional Filipino dishes - Chicken Tinola! 🇵🇭🍲 She picked fresh green papaya and malunggay straight from the trees behind our house, making this Tinola especially fresh and authentic. 🌿💚 The best part? My children and my friend Alena’s sons absolutely loved it! We had so many funny conversations and jokes around the table, including a lot of talk about Filipino school and everyday life in the Philippines. 😄 And then came the sweetest moment - I gave some Tinola to little Alina. ❤️ She happily ate everything: the chicken, the broth, and the green papaya! Her favorite was the papaya. 😂 Even funnier, Alena’s boys initially thought the green papaya was potato!
