About this show: N&W 1218 is sidelined now, her rebuild interrupted when Norfolk Southern ended their steam program in the mid-1990s. But in 1987, she was fresh from the Norris Steam Restoration Shop in Ironwood/Birmingham, Alabama. This is her first excursion after the shop forces released her - and the train climbs the grade on a mainline no doubt she would be familiar with from her days pulling hard for the Norfolk & Western Railway.
