Ataxia Subreddit: / ataxia About the Speaker- Speaker: Stephanie Bissonnette, DO, MPH Bio: Dr. Stephanie Bissonnette is a Movement Disorders Specialist with a clinical focus on Huntington’s Disease and Ataxia. She completed residency training at The Ohio State University and her Movement Disorder Fellowship at Boston University's Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorder Fellowship. She joined the faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University where she serves as the Associate Vice Chair of Care Team Vitality for the Department of Neurology. She is the director of the VCU NAF Ataxia Center of Excellence and the HDSA Huntington’s Center of Excellence where she leads multi-disciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for complicated genetic disorders. She is a principal investigator for multiple clinical trials and has recently expanded her research portfolio to include investigator-initiated ataxia projects. She holds a special interest in health literacy which she seeks to improve through patient focus groups, advisory boards, and community outreach. Dr. Bissonnette is dedicating to teaching the next generation of neurologists through her clinical work and increasing the number of neurology trainees interested in caring for those with HD and ataxia.
