The Arghuns arrived from Kandahar, established their rule, and gradually transformed the political landscape of Sindh. But the story did not end there. The Tarkhan rulers inherited a divided Sindh, while internal struggles opened the door to outside powers. Portuguese forces reached Thatta, Sindh was divided between rival rulers, and the Mughal Empire was gradually moving closer. There is also a remarkable connection to the Mughal story: decades earlier, the future Emperor Akbar had been born at Umarkot while his father Humayun was seeking refuge in Sindh. This episode follows the transformation of Sindh from the end of Samma rule to the Arghun and Tarkhan dynasties, and finally to the Mughal takeover of Sindh.
