89001 Avocet: The Avocet Achievement and Carlisle Evening Trains 07 October 2026

7th October saw a little conflict for me. The Avocet Achievement repeat run from Crewe to Glasgow Central and return would be heading north around midday but I had to act as On Train Guide for a party travelling to Skipton. With a prompt turn around (actually an hour) at Skipton I could get a little lunch and travel back for 89001's arrival at about 4:30. My train from Skipton got me to the Citadel on time at 4pm but I then found 89001 and train were around 30 minutes late at Carstairs. No technical issues though, purely down to management actions on Central station. As well as seeing 89001 propel its train at Carlisle I say the usual late afternoon intermodals and a couple of colourful passenger trains.
