Ce sont les Chieftains qui baptisèrent le morceau "Carolan's Welcome" pour célébrer la visite du pape Jean-Paul II à Dublin... Mon arrangement s'inspire de la belle version du guitariste Davy Rogers, avec quelques emprunts au duo Robin Bullock & Michel Sikiotakis et au groupe Lúnasa. This tune was composed by the famous harpist Turlough O' Carolan (1670-1738). If the music arrived to us, such is not the case of its original title. The Chieftains baptized the piece "Carolan's Welcome" to celebrate the visit of Pope Jean-Paul II in Dublin... My arrangement is inspired by the beautiful guitar version by Davy Rogers, with some borrowings from the duet Robin Bullock / Michel Sikiotakis and from the band Lúnasa.
