From its turbulent depths erupt the Élivágar - the eleven venomous rivers that flowed into the void of Ginnungagap at the dawn of creation, helping to shape the very substance of the cosmos. Coiled within its churning waters and wrapping around the lowest root of Yggdrasil is Níðhöggr, alongside an uncounted swarm of serpents including Grafvitnir, Grábakr, Grafvölluðr, Góinn, and Móinn. Day and night, they gnaw endlessly at the foundations of the World Tree, Yggdrasil, driving the relentless cycle of decay that balances the life of the nine realms.
