After weeks of describing the cosmic creation, the Virat Rupa, the avataras, the three potencies, the eternal soul, and the Lord's unlimited expansions — Brahmaji brings his entire teaching to Narada to one final, irreducible point.
In Srimad Bhagavatam 2.7.50, he says it simply and completely.
My dear son, I have now explained in brief the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is the creator of the manifested worlds. Without Him — Hari, the Lord — there are no other causes of the phenomenal and noumenal existences.
Everything Brahmaji has described — the mahat-tattva, the five gross elements, the senses, the mind, the demigods, the Virat Rupa, the avataras, the spiritual and material energies, the fourteen planetary systems, the cosmic dissolution — all of it, every single layer and level of existence, has exactly one cause.
Hari.
Not a secondary cause. Not a co-cause. Not one cause among many. The only cause. The cause of all causes. Sarva-karana-karanam.
Srila Prabhupada's purport drives this home with the precision of a philosopher and the warmth of a devotee. This temporary material world is the work of the Lord's external potency. The conditioned souls struggling here are the marginal potency of the Supreme Lord. There is no cause for all these phenomenal activities but Him. And this does not mean the Lord Himself is distributed impersonally into creation — the Lord remains the personal, transcendental, individual Supreme Person, creating through His energies while remaining eternally distinct from them.
The phenomenal world — everything you can see, touch, measure, and experience. The noumenal world — everything beyond the reach of the senses, the subtle realities behind the gross. Both have one cause. Hari.
This is the verse Brahmaji offers to his beloved son Narada as the essence of everything he has taught. After all the cosmology, all the philosophy, all the avataras — this is the bottom line. The simplest, most complete statement in all of Chapter 7.
Without Hari — nothing. With Hari — everything.
