Last time ManaBat got terrain that reshapes under your feet, diegetic onboarding, and a first cut of the HUD and combat after outside eyes — with an honest note that a chunk of that pass was still compile-verified only. Since then the prototype moved onto the 0.2 playtest line. Keyboard and mouse are a real control path alongside the pad. The quarterstaff's sweep finally connects. Heavy attacks land with weight. Spirit levels unlock abilities; combat points unlock combo steps. Spirits teach in the world, death and critical vitals warn you before you drop, and elemental abilities read as the thing they claim to be — ground zones, trunk collision, push, walls. A fresh playtest round also drove a sharp fix pass: earth spells aim under the canopy instead of erupting on top of trees, you can cancel a cast mid-aim, settings sliders step instead of screaming, the minimap can optionally rotate with the camera, and Morale is taught as the casing around health — with a capped way to get a little health back once that casing is full and you're out of the fight. Honest caveat: combination-spell demos and a clear read on enemy colours / weaknesses are still lab work, not a finished Settings lesson. An in-run timer and more breathing room after the fourth spirit unlock are still open. Some of today's tip is newer than the last 0.2.1 playtest build, and the splash version label may still need a clean bump before I call the number locked. ManaBat is a solo-developed isometric action RPG with custom voxel world generation — no publishers, no shortcuts.
