Marvel Comics became the Marvel Comics we know today in november of 1961, when the first issue of Fantastic Four hit the stands. It was the beginning of one of the most prolific and creative periods in the history of comics, with a handful of artists the likes of Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko creating new charcaters on a weekly basis that went on to become some of the most beloved characters in modern media. Populated by heroes, villains, lovers, monarchs, allies, magical dimensions, and giant aliens, the Marvel Age was aptly named.
