What Really Happens Behind the Scenes at the Tony Awards? | Rina Saltzman

On this episode of The OnStage Blog Theatre Podcast, we're joined by Rina Saltzman, Secretary-Treasurer of ATPAM (The Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers, IATSE Local 18032). Rina shares with Rachel and Jacklyn her unique perspective on the often-unseen world of theatrical press and company management before taking us behind the scenes of the Tony Awards. We discuss what it means to be a Tony voter, how productions prepare for their performance on Broadway's biggest night, and the enormous amount of planning and coordination that goes into making the ceremony look effortless. Whether you're curious about the business side of theatre or have ever wondered what really happens behind the curtain at the Tony Awards, this is an episode you won't want to miss.
