Nickelodeon reportedly aired one episode of Figure It Out exactly once, then buried it. A future MLB pitcher won Geoffrey Dollars from the audience. And the internet spent years convinced Lori Beth Denberg was rigging the whole show. In this Fever Dream Nostalgia deep dive, we rewatch Figure It Out, the 1997 Nickelodeon game show hosted by Olympic gold medalist Summer Sanders, with panelists Lori Beth Denberg, Danny Tamberelli, Kevin Kopelow and Amanda Bynes. We dig into the lost pitch pilot with a different host, the season one prizes that came from other cancelled Nick game shows like Double Dare, Legends of the Hidden Temple and Global GUTS, and the three conflicting recipes for the green slime from the people who sat in it. We look at Billy the Answer Head, the secret slime action, Danny Tamberelli's legendary slime count, and the fan theory that Lori Beth was fed the answers. Then we get to the lost episode: the milk-out-of-the-eyes talent that reportedly aired once, plus the Guinness World Record that proves it's real and the 1956 game show ancestor that featured a man who saw Lincoln get shot. We cover Family Style, the animal-only Wild Style season with Jack Hanna, the 2012 Figure It Out revival with Jeff Sutphen and the Word of Honor rule that slimed the kids, and where the old Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando ended up. Be honest: did you ever guess the talent before the panel did, or did Lori Beth ruin it for you?
