NHM Contractual Nursing Officers Voice Grievances Over Service Conditions, Urge Government Action Itanagar: Contractual Nursing Officers working under the National Health Mission (NHM) in Arunachal Pradesh have appealed to the state government to address their long-standing concerns over service conditions, job security and salary revision. The nursing officers said many have been serving in the state’s healthcare sector for 8 to 10 years or more, including in remote and interior health centres, where they continue to provide essential medical services to people in underserved areas. Despite their years of experience and continued service, they remain on contractual terms, without the job security and benefits associated with regular government employment. They have urged the government to consider their prolonged service and practical experience while framing a policy for regularization. They also highlighted the difficulties of preparing for fresh competitive examinations after years of professional service, particularly while balancing demanding work responsibilities.
