AAPSU Clarifies Role in Bordumsa-Diyun SIR Exercise After Clash ITANAGAR, September 5: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has clarified its role in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the Bordumsa-Diyun area of Changlang district, following a clash during Friday’s hearing at Bordumsa. AAPSU Vice President (Protocol) Nabam Gandhi, along with other union members, said the team was present during the SIR exercise to monitor the verification process and raise objections over names considered doubtful or potentially ineligible. According to AAPSU, its intervention was aimed at ensuring that the electoral roll verification process is carried out transparently and strictly in accordance with prescribed rules. The clarification comes after Friday’s hearing reportedly turned violent, leaving an AAPSU activist injured. Gandhi alleged that members of the AAPSU team were confronted and attacked following a dispute during the hearing. AAPSU reiterated that its involvement in the exercise was focused on verifying electoral eligibility and protecting what it described as the constitutional and demographic interests of indigenous communities. The union has urged the authorities to ascertain the facts through proper verification and ensure that due process is followed. — Itanagar Chronicles #ArunachalPradesh #AAPSU #Bordumsa #Diyun #Changlang #SIR #ElectoralRoll
