Recap: Pritam Singh plans to appeal after being found guilty of lying to parliamentary committee: https://www.straitstimes.com/live-sin... Workers’ Party (WP) chief Pritam Singh has been fined a total of $14,000 after a district court found him guilty on two counts of lying under oath to a parliamentary committee. Singh, who was fined the maximum of $7,000 for each of his two charges, said he will appeal his sentence. Singh's first charge was for claiming that on Aug 8, 2021, he had wanted former WP MP Raeesah Khan to clarify her lie in Parliament at some point. The second charge was for telling the committee that he had advised Ms Khan on Oct 3, 2021, to admit to her lie in Parliament, one day before she doubled down on it. Singh returned to court on Feb 17 to hear the decision of his trial following almost two weeks of hearings last year.
