Oats Shock: What It REALLY Does To Your Cholesterol
In 1997 the FDA allowed oats to carry a regulated health claim about cholesterol. Nearly thirty years later most people know the headline but not the mechanism — and the mechanism is genuinely elegant. Oats don't neutralise cholesterol. They interrupt a recycling loop in your gut, and your liver pays for the replacement. In this video we walk through exactly how that works, and why two bowls of oats can produce different results.
Welcome to Bite to Bloodstream — where we explain what everyday foods may do after you eat them.
In this video, we explore the food science behind this ingredient, the active compounds inside it, and what research suggests they may do in the body.
