Native Nation Building Episode 9: Leadership and Strategic Thinking: The Path to Self-Determination

Episode 9 of the 2006 NNI DVD series "Native Nation Building" sees journalist Mary Kim Titla (San Carlos Apache) return to moderate a conversation titled “Leadership and Strategic Thinking: The Path to Self-Determination.” Joining her are former Navajo Nation Chairman and President Peterson Zah and former Chief Tribal Judge for the Crow Nation of Montana and Montana State Legislator Angela Russell. The two Tribal leaders discuss what it takes to run a Native nation, how to involve the next generation in policy making and governance, and more, drawing largely from firsthand experience of serving in elected office. Produced by Ian Record. We are sharing this DVD series as part of NNI's 25th anniversary recognition and to mark the 20th anniversary of the series itself.
